Hi, I’m Jeff Danhauer, and am very proud to say that I am Kim’s husband and Tate’s Dad. We enjoy our small family practice and helping people with their hearing needs. My career has spanned over 40 years in the Audiology profession teaching university students at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels; servering as chair of the Speech and Hearing Sciences Department at UCSB for 15 years; conducting research and publishing over 180 articles; co-authoring several books; editing over 60 textbooks; presenting 100s of papers at professional meetings; being a reviewer for numerous scientific and clinical journals; and diagnosing and helping meet the rehabilitative needs of thousands of patients. I believe that these experiences help us at HCC to stay current with technologies for assessing our patients’ hearing and meeting their communication needs. I am sure that once you allow us to help you and your family, you will agree and see why I am so proud of my family and our practice.
Thank you and remember “We are here to help you hear!”
Hi, I’m Kim! Thank you for visiting our website. I’ve been working with my husband, Jeff at Hearing Consultants of California since 1985. I am a hearing aid specialist with a degree in business from San Diego State University. I graduated in 1981 and went to work in my family’s business where I was a manufacturer’s representative for a number of hearing testing equipment manufacturers and a hearing aid company. There, I met my husband and moved to Santa Barbara. After completing course work in audiology and speech language pathology at UCSB I started working at HCC.
I am happy working with people of all ages to meet their hearing healthcare needs. I specialize in hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and repairs. I try to help people through the sometimes complicated task of buying hearing aids, learning about the process so they can maximize the benefit they derive from amplification. I also help our patients interface with our billing person in order to optimize their insurance benefits. I am the general office manager and try to keep everything running smoothly.
When I am not at work, you can find me playing with my dogs, working in my gardens and vineyard, or riding our horse.
I hope your experience at HCC is satisfying and improves the quality of your life through better hearing.
Hello! My name is Tate Danhauer, and I would personally like to welcome you to Hearing Consultants. I graduated with my Masters Degree in Audiology from San Diego State University in 1999 after completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences at UCSB. I have been practicing as a clinical audiologist ever since, and working in private practice has provided me with invaluable experience that I call upon daily to help solve my patients' problems with communication. I pride myself in working with the newest hearing aid technologies, and truly enjoy making a positive difference in families' lives. My profession offers daily challenges while working with children, adults, and seniors with hearing impairment, but it also rewards me with the satisfaction of knowing I play a part toward improving peoples' overall quality of life. I do love my job! After work, I enjoy spending time with my beloved wife and three wonderful children. I also have a passion for sports, music, exercise, golf, skiing, and travel.
